Scholarship Committee

The Rochester Scholarship Committee was established in 1996 for the purpose of providing scholarships to worthy Rochester senior high school college bound students.

Residents of Rochester have the opportunity to donate money toward this fund. When residents receive their upcoming real estate tax bill there will be an insert in the envelope for donations. Donations may also be mailed directly to the Rochester Town Hall attn: Scholarship Committee.

This committee has been successful in prior years rewarding at least two scholarships per year. We encourage residents to continue their generosity to allow this endeavor to continue.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Dear Applicant:

The Town of Rochester is pleased to be able to award at least one $500.00 scholarship to a deserving Rochester High School senior graduating in the year 2008. Please read the instructions below carefully and be sure to follow all the requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

The applicant must be a resident of the Town of Rochester
The applicant must be a graduating senior who plans on attending a college, university or trade school to which he/she has been accepted for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Applicants must submit all of the following items by the due date for your application to qualify for consideration.

Complete application (See link to download form below)
A typewritten essay, no more than one page (double spaced). See application for topic.
A comprehensive Official Transcript.
A recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. Additional recommendations will also be welcomed.

Note: Scholarship recipients may be required to provide their social security number.

DUE DATE: APRIL 26, 2008
