Buisness Certificates

Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 110, Section 5 requires any person conducting business in the Commonwealth under any title other than the real name of the person conducting the business (whether individually or as a partnership), shall file a Business Certificate in the Office of the Town Clerk for the community where an office of any such person or partnership may be situated.

Your Business Certificate will be in effect for four (4) years and must be renewed as long as such business continues to be conducted in the Town of Rochester.

The form should be filled out, notarized, and returned to the Town Clerk's Office .  If you have any questions, please contact the Town Clerk's Office at 508-763-3871, Ext. 117.  The fee for filing a business certificate is $20.00

Violations

Please be aware that violations of MGL Chapter 110, Section 5 are subject to a fine of not more than $300 for each month during which such violations continue.
